ART STATEMENT
My work concerns transformation processes occurring in natural or cultural environments. I draw on my backgrounds in art, mathematics and engineering to make images about change, combining physical elements with their cyclic or interactive processes.
What more is change but a sequence of moments, events, and states that are related by cause and effect? My process is a personal transformation of these random and ordered elements into the language of color, line, shape, and space. I also substitute text, diagrams, symbols and metaphorical parts for the physical realities that extends relationships and adds other meanings. A whole image emerges in the paint with the forms, spaces and their interactions.
